From Farms to Incubators began with a simple question: Who are the women reshaping the future of agriculture? That question sparked a documentary and book that spotlighted the innovators redefining agtech long before the industry recognized their influence.

The documentary introduced audiences to women building solutions from soil to software — including Erica Riel‑Carden, Poornima Parameswaran, Diane Wu, Rivka Garcia, Jessica Gonzalez, Miku Jha, and Le Thuy Vuong — each bringing a distinct vision for how technology could transform farming, food systems, and environmental resilience.

The book expanded that lens even further, featuring leaders such as Martha Montoya, Beth Bechdol, and Fatma Kaplan, whose work spans global policy, biotech, commercialization, and the future of crop innovation.

Today, From Farms to Incubators has grown far beyond its original storytelling roots. What began as a documentary and book is now a nonprofit focused on training the next generation of youth in storytelling and introducing them to career opportunities in food and innovation. The stories that we tell inform and build community for women shaping the future of agriculture and technology. Through initiatives including digital storytelling, mentorship, research partnerships, and statewide media collaborations, we’re creating a space where women founders, engineers, scientists, and policy leaders can be seen, supported, and elevated. As we look to the next decade and beyond, our work will continue to strengthen that ecosystem so more women’s stories are documented, shared, and connected to the broader conversations shaping agriculture’s future.
